AS Roma is proud to announce that the club has been supporting the Calcio Insieme project since the start of the year.
Organised jointly by the Roma Cares Foundation and the Calcio Integrato association, Calcio Insieme ('Football Together') brings together a group of boys and girls aged 6-12 with physical and mental disabilities on the training ground at the Centro Olimpico Giulio Onesti, to work with a team of doctors, speech therapists and specialised instructors in support.
The initiative aims to aid the development of the children's physical and psychological well-being, reduce the stress related to their living conditions, increase their self-confidence and their motivation to take part in physical activity.
A team of AS Roma coaches and sports psychologists have devised tailored teaching methods for these children to create a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment for them.
One of the objectives is to develop a culture of integration while teaching sporting values through football.
