SPAL defeated Roma 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico, a surprising result for the giallorossi. Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke with Sky Sport after the match: "The squad had the game in hand, before their penalty SPAL never had a shot on goal. We began missing our quality. Fortunately on Tuesday, there's another match and we must play much better than we did in the second half."

"The play of Dzeko? He had good chances that he wasn't able to take advantage of. Today he wasn't able to score, he could have played better in the first half. I hope that he recovers soon, but we cannot base all of our fortunes on Dzeko, the entire team needs to work together."
