Roma to face three European heavyweights during 2018 US Tour

AS Roma will face Barcelona, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur during this summer's International Champions Cup, in what promises to be a blockbuster tournament.

The Giallorossi will be heading to San Diego, Dallas and New York for the three games, ideal preparation for the 2018-19 Serie A campaign.

Here are the complete details for Roma's three games this summer, as they participate in the ICC for the fourth time in the last five years (all times listed are local time).

July 25 - v. Tottenham Hotspur
SDCCU Stadium, San Diego - 19:05

July 31 - v. Barcelona
AT&T Stadium, Dallas - 21:05

August 7 - v. Real Madrid
MetLife Stadium, New York - 20:05

The fixtures were announced at a press event in Miami on Tuesday.

"We're excited to be coming back to the United States again this summer for the International Champions Cup," said Jim Pallotta, president of AS Roma.

"We enjoyed some fantastic games last summer and we think this year could be even better. I think millions of fans around the world watched our Champions League tie against Barcelona in amazement on TV and it will be nice to give our fans in America another chance to see the team close-up.

"We've got three great games against three great clubs in Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Real Madrid so it should be an exciting pre-season tour for both the players and the fans."

For the first time in four years the Giallorossi will return to the West Coast of America, as they begin their tournament against Premier League side Spurs in San Diego. The two sides also met in last year's event: the Giallorossi winning 3-2, after a number of dramatic late goals, in that one.

The side will then head to Texas and Arlington's AT&T Stadium - a state-of-the-art, 100,000-capacity sports complex that will see Roma face Barcelona once again after this season's epic Champions League clash.

The Giallorossi will then complete their campaign at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, home to the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets, against Real Madrid - a clash involving two of this season's four Champions League semi-finalists.

"We've built something truly unique," said Charlie Stillitano, co-founder and executive chairman of organisers Relevent. "Our vision of celebrating the world's greatest clubs and athletes will come to life this summer with epic matches showcasing the most competitive soccer in the world."

Each team competing in the ICC will play three games, with three points awarded for a win.

Any games that finish level after 90 minutes will immediately go to a penalty shootout - with the winning side awarded two points and the losers one point.

At the end of the tournament, the team with the most points from its three games will be crowned the ICC winner.
