Alessandro Florenzi was adamant that Roma deserved more from their performance, in the wake of Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Sampdoria.

The Giallorossi left it late to equalise through Edin Dzeko but Florenzi - who was captain on the night - felt his side never got the rewards their performance warranted over the 90 minutes at the Luigi Ferraris.

"We deserved a lot more than a draw today," Florenzi said. "We played with grit and determination from the first minute to the last and apart from the odd little slip - which can happen - we created far more chances than them. All things considered I think a point is a very slim return from this game."

When pushed on Roma's lack of goals, he added: "We must have fashioned about 15 good openings - and there was shot of mine that was going in if it hadn't taken a deflection. We have to make our own luck because I don't believe in misfortune. If we play the way we did tonight, we'll soon turn things around."

"[Edin's goal was] huge. We said in the week that the transfer talk doesn't affect us," he said. "And even if it happens to someone else, we'll just stay focused on our football.

"If we keep playing like this, the results will come."
