Midfielder Gerson could not hide his delight after scoring his first goals for Roma during Sunday's win over Fiorentina.
The Brazilian scored twice in the first half - the opener coming after barely five minutes - to help the Giallorossi to a 4-2 victory at the Artemio Franchi.
"I have to thank God, the coach and the whole squad," Gerson said. "I'm really happy with the two goals and to get the win. All my teammates have shown so much faith in me. I'm very happy to have scored my first two goals for the club."
He added: "I know I have to try and play well, wherever the coach puts me on the pitch. I need to do everything I can for the team."
