Coach Paulo Fonseca has opted to give Roger Ibanez his debut for the club, as Roma host Sampdoria in their Serie A return on Wednesday evening.

Ibanez partners Chris Smalling at the back for the Giallorossi as they return to action after a 115-day absence, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Javier Pastore both start.

Edin Dzeko captains and leads the line, with Antonio Mirante in goal in the absence of the injured Pau Lopez.
