Here's what coach Paulo Fonseca had to say following Roma's first league win of 2020, as they beat Genoa 3-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

An own goal from Genoa captain Davide Biraschi, either side of strikes from Cengiz Under and Edin Dzeko, proved decisive for the Giallorossi.

Cengiz Under and Leonardo Spinazzola played really well this evening.

"Yes, Spinazzola had a fantastic game and so did Cengiz. All the lads produced a good display. Our first-half performance was almost perfect. We showed quality in attack, but can't afford to allow ourselves to concede goals like the one Genoa scored today just before half-time. Having said that, the whole team played very well."

What did you say to the team after two defeats to start the year?

"We're aware of what happened against Torino and Juventus. We lost, but we did create openings and play well. There was no reason not to be confident off the back of those two matches. The team is in good shape and I think we've deserved to pick up these back-to-back away wins."

It's the derby on Sunday. How are you looking ahead to that fixture?

"I know it's a special game for everyone, but it's quite a simple one for me. I don't have much choice. We have these players and they'll take to the pitch with ambition and hunger to win the match. Before that, we face Juventus in the Coppa Italia."

Maybe Lorenzo Pellegrini should be more clinical in certain situations.

"Pellegrini has quality and is the player with the most assists (seven) in our squad. I think the team is creating plenty of chances and showing determination and ambition. We have to iron out mistakes with our final ball, but we're certainly carving out chances."
